HVAC and plumbing shops: what an AI agent can and can't do with your software
- Last verified
- Updated Published
Who this is for: owners and office managers at HVAC, plumbing and similar service shops who want to know which parts of their software stack an AI agent can work with today. The first agent covered is Muse, Meta's personal agent with a small-business mode. Other agents can be added to the same tables later.
Every claim below links its source and carries the date we checked it.
How to read the status labels
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Confirmed by vendor | The software company or Meta says it in its own docs, help center, blog or press release. |
| Confirmed by the [agency] | A government agency says it on its own site, and the label names that agency (for example "Confirmed by the FCC" or "Confirmed by the FTC"). |
| Reported | A press outlet or independent site says it, and we haven't found it in the vendor's own material. |
| Conflicting | Sources disagree. We show both. |
| Unverified | We couldn't confirm it. Treat it as an open question. |
We haven't run these tasks ourselves. "The vendor says" doesn't mean "we tested it." See how we check.
The short version
- Your field-service software isn't one of Muse's built-in connectors. Jobber, Housecall Pro and ServiceTitan weren't on Meta's Sept 29 launch list. (Confirmed by vendor 1)
- Jobber now has its own official AI connector for ChatGPT and Claude. (Confirmed by vendor 5)
- The money side of the shop is covered natively: QuickBooks, Stripe, HighLevel and Klaviyo are Muse connectors. (Confirmed by vendor 1 2 3)
- Muse doesn't answer incoming calls for your shop. (Reported 11) Meta staff have described a beta in which Muse places outbound calls to US businesses for its users, and 404 Media reports that Meta is testing having some of those calls placed by people in a call center. (Reported 18 19)
- Keep payroll and taxes out. Intuit says those QuickBooks tasks aren't part of the Muse connector. (Confirmed by vendor 2)
Stack map
Status checked October 27, 2026.
| Tool you run | Built-in Muse connector? | Other route | Status and source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jobber (scheduling, quotes, invoices) | No | Jobber launched an official MCP connector for ChatGPT and Claude on Sept 25, 2026. It's available to all Jobber customers, reads clients, properties, jobs, quotes, invoices, requests and visits, and can update client, property and request records. Jobber also has a public GraphQL API with OAuth. | Not on Meta's list: Confirmed by vendor 1 . Jobber MCP: Confirmed by vendor 5 . API: Confirmed by vendor 6 . Works inside Muse: Unverified . One public request asks Muse to add Jobber: Reported 12 . |
| Housecall Pro | No | Public REST API, but only on the MAX plan. An admin creates the API key (full or read-only). Housecall Pro offers no dedicated API support. No official MCP connector found. | API and plan gate: Confirmed by vendor 7 . No official MCP: Reported 13 . |
| ServiceTitan | No | Public REST API. A ServiceTitan admin with the right permissions can create an app for their own company account in the developer portal. ServiceTitan announced an MCP connector at its Pantheon conference on Oct 6, 2026. | API self-serve: Confirmed by vendor 8 . MCP announced: Confirmed by vendor 9 . Public setup docs for the MCP: none found as of Oct 23, Reported 13 . |
| QuickBooks | Yes | n/a | Confirmed by vendor 1 2 |
| Stripe | Yes | n/a | Confirmed by vendor 1 |

| Klaviyo | Yes | n/a | Confirmed by vendor 1 3 |
| Phone calls | No | Incoming calls: Muse doesn't answer them, so keep your answering service or call-handling tool. Outbound calls: Meta staff have described a beta in which Muse places outbound calls to US businesses for its users, and 404 Media reports that Meta is testing having some of those calls placed by people in a call center. | Incoming: Reported 11 . Outbound beta: Reported 18 19 . |
What "custom connector" means here: Muse lets you add connectors that Meta hasn't built, and Meta says it doesn't review them. (Confirmed by vendor 4) You (or someone you hire) are responsible for what a custom connector can see and do. Your field-service vendor's own rules still apply. For example, Jobber blocks API access for an unpublished app that connects to more than 5 paying Jobber accounts. (Confirmed by vendor 6) Whether Jobber's official connector can be added to Muse as a custom connector hasn't been shown publicly. (Unverified)
Jobs you could hand off today (per vendor docs)
| Job | Tool | What the vendor says | Status and source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remind customers about overdue invoices | QuickBooks in Muse | Intuit lists creating and sending payment-enabled invoices and overdue-invoice reminders | Confirmed by vendor 2 |
| Weekly profit and loss or cash-flow check | QuickBooks in Muse | Intuit lists reports such as profit and loss and cash flow | Confirmed by vendor 2 |
| Draft follow-up and maintenance-reminder emails | Klaviyo or HighLevel in Muse | Klaviyo says you can use your Klaviyo customer data and marketing insights from Muse. HighLevel's Oct 9 help article says its official Muse app connects by OAuth to the sub-accounts and scopes you approve, and covers CRM services including contacts, conversations, calendars, opportunities, payments, locations and custom fields: 600+ operations across 38 CRM domains, limited to the scopes you approve. It says MCP clients can also send messages when that access is granted. | Klaviyo: Confirmed by vendor 3 . HighLevel: Confirmed by vendor 17 |
| Find approved quotes that were never scheduled, and jobs that were never invoiced | Jobber's own MCP connector (ChatGPT or Claude) | Jobber names both as things its connector can find | Confirmed by vendor 5 . In Muse: Unverified |
Meta says nothing publishes, sends or spends without your approval. (Confirmed by vendor 1) Read what Muse drafted before you approve a send.
Keep these out
- Payroll, closing the books and taxes. Intuit says these aren't included in the QuickBooks connector for Muse. (Confirmed by vendor 2)
- Answering your shop's phone. Muse doesn't answer incoming calls for your shop. (Reported 11) Meta staff have described a beta in which Muse places outbound calls to US businesses for its users, and 404 Media reports that Meta is testing having some of those calls placed by people in a call center. (Reported 18 19) Think twice before asking it to call anyone with customer details.
- Broad write access to your job software. If you connect a field-service tool through a custom connector, start read-only where the vendor allows it. Housecall Pro offers read-only keys. (Confirmed by vendor 7)
Risks to know before an agent sends anything for you
- Texts. The FCC says autodialed texts to a mobile phone need the owner's prior consent, commercial texts need written consent, informational texts can rely on oral consent, and people can opt out at any time in any reasonable way. (Confirmed by the FCC 14) Ask whether a reminder is commercial or informational before an agent sends it.
- Email. CAN-SPAM covers commercial email, including business-to-business email, with no exception. The FTC's compliance guide says: no false or misleading header information; no deceptive subject lines; identify the message as an ad; include a valid physical postal address; give a clear way to opt out; honor opt-outs within 10 business days, and keep the opt-out working for at least 30 days after you send. You can't contract away responsibility: both the business being promoted and the company that sends the email can be held liable. Penalties run up to $53,088 for each email that breaks the law. (Confirmed by the FTC 16)
- Customer data. A connector can read customer names, addresses and job history. Check what each one can access before you connect it, and remove access you don't use. If you use BoldTrail, note that its help center says a deleted API token stays active. (Confirmed by vendor 10)
